New Az. Dept. of Weights & Measures Director

Governor Janet Napolitano selected George Seitts as the new director of the Arizona Department of Weights and Measures. He succeeds Art Macias, who took over as director of the State Lottery. Seitts, began his career in public service working for Senator Barry Goldwater from '69-'80, during those years, he directed & analyzed legislative & regulatory issues for commerce, energy, transportation, & U.S. military academies. Seitts has held various government relations positions at both private & government organizations, including Conoco Phillips & the Eisenhower Group, Inc. In 2004, he became director of the Energy Office in the Arizona Department of Commerce. Seitts will begin his work at Weights & Measures later this month. His permanent appointment is subject to senate confirmation.
