Casa Grande Shopping Center Update
Late 2007 is the hoped for date range so far, 2008 sounds more likely. The Casa Grande City Council, unanimously approved a $19.95 million sales tax incentive & a financial study showing that the center would bring in more sales tax over the 20-year term. The incentive plan for the 120-acre open-air center at the northeast corner of Florence Boulevard & I-10 will not raise the city sales tax. The developers, " The Pederson Group, WDP Partners & Westcor," will improve the roads near the project to better suit the needs of the people. Also, they will install new utility lines, including boring underneath I-10 for a major sewer connection. The amount of new jobs once completed ranges from 3,000 to 4,000.
