ADOT Awards Contracts for Projects Across Arizona

ADOT will fund $2.8 million in projects to improve highways throughout Arizona. At its March 17th meeting in Yuma, the State Transportation Board approved 4 projects in Cochise, Coconino and Gila Counties.

Cochise County:

I-10 Repaving – The project is at the West San Simon traffic interchange & consists of removal of the surface of the existing pavement replacing it with a new layer of asphalt pavement. Southern Arizona Paving & Construction will start work on the $415,000 project in April & will be finished in June.

Coconino County:

Flagstaff Business Route 40B Repaving – The project is on Business Route 40B from Switzer Canyon Drive to Fanning Drive. It consists of removal of the surface of the existing pavement, replacing it with smooth rubberized asphalt, traffic signal construction, pavement marking, signing & related incidental items. Southwest Asphalt Paving will start work on the $1.9 million project in April & will be finished in late summer.

Gila County:

Miami Roadside Improvements – The project is along the westbound side of US 60 between Miami Avenue & Latham Boulevard. It consists of construction of a new parallel parking area, concrete sidewalk, roadway work, fencing, ramadas, a drinking fountain, & pedestrian lighting fixtures. DJ’s Companies will start work on the $192,000 project in April & will be finished in August.

SR 260 Wildlife Fencing – The project is along SR 260 between Lion Spring & Little Green Valley (milepost 259 – 263). It consists of removal of the existing fencing, installing new fencing, fence gates, a solar powered flashing system, elk jumps & ramps, cattle guards, & other related work. Electrobraid Fence will start work on the $325,000 project in April & will be finished in late summer.
