19th Annual Pinal County Town Hall Presentations Selected
"Safe At Home" - Residential Emergency Preparedness is the theme selected for the 19th annual Pinal County Town Hall, April 26 - 28th. More than 140 delegates are expected to attend sessions at the Francisco Grande Hotel & Golf Resort in Casa Grande. The registration deadline is April 15th.
Arizona Office of Homeland Security Director, Frank F. Navarrete, is the keynote speaker for Wednesday's opening banquet/ceremonies.
Thursday's agenda features the following sessions, Taking Responsibility - Forming A Community Emergency Response Team, Identifying Resources, Rescuing Animals and Pets, & Keeping Connected.
The noon luncheon Thursday will announce the Pinal County Youth of the Year & the recipients of the 2006 Constellation Awards.
Friday morning's session, "An Impending Flu Pandemic - Myth or Reality?" will review previous pandemics & project the possibility of the irrepetition in the U.S. The session will close with a mock disaster simulation "Table Top" exercise.
The delegates anticipated outcome is to increase Pinal County's citizens' awareness of the importance of emergency preparedness (responsibility, readiness, resources), provide practical strategies for individual emergency preparedness, & foster networking & collaboration among the attendees & their circle of influence.
A pre-conference workshop, "Can Your Business Recover From A Catastrophic Event," is being offered by the CAC Small Business Development Center in partnership with MSU.
