"When Silver Was King" Lecture Feb. 19th, At The Arboretum
Author Jack San Felice is at Boyce Thompson Arboretum this Sunday, Feb. 19th, for a 1:30 p.m. lecture about his book "When Silver Was King." The book was published in 2005 & describes the rise & fall of the legendary Silver King Mine which brought 19th Century settlers and development to Superior, AZ. The 1:30 p.m. lecture is included with the Arboretum's regular adult daily admission of $7.50, or $3 for ages 5-12. San Felice's talk will be followed by a book signing & a short tour of the Arboretum main trail, where he'll discuss features including Silver King Wash, Picketpost Mountain, & the Apache Leap escarpment, which are all in his book. The Arboretum is located at highway 60 at milepost #223 as you approach the historic copper mining town of Superior, and is about a 45 minute drive due West of Globe-Miami, or about a half-hour East of Apache Junction.
