San Carlos PD No Longer Impounding

Effective immediately, the San Carlos Police Department will no longer be impounding or storing vehicles in the police department's yard that were used in the commission of a crime. Acting Chief Alejandro Benally says that impounding of vehicles causes damages while in the police yard. It all boils own to being a liability issue. Due to a change in policy, all vehicles involved in a crime, such as DUI, will now be towed by a tow service to Safford or Globe and the cost of the service will be at the expense of the violator and/or owner of the vehicle. You may obtain more information by calling Chief Benally at the San Carlos Police Department at (928) 475-2224.
