Popular Outdoor Outfitters Files For Bankruptcy
Popular Outdoor Outfitters, a Phoenix-based outdoor-gear and clothing chain, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation Friday, according to records filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Under Chapter 7, the assets of bankrupt companies are sold off to pay creditors. Liquidation sales were held over the weekend at Popular's three Tucson stores at 6315 E. Broadway, 6314 N. Oracle Road and 2820 N. Campbell Ave. The stores were closed Monday. Popular owed about $150,000 to three separate creditors, said Jay Indyke, a New York attorney who had been representing creditors in the case.
