Florence CCA Prison Positions Cut

Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), operaters of two private prisons in Florence, have cut a few jobs at each facility with the goal of operating more efficiently. Seven positions were eliminated at the Florence Correctional Center and another 25 were from the Central Arizona Detention Center, most of which are clerical. The company had recently given layoff notices at its Eloy Detention Center because a Bureau of Prisons contract is set to expire at the end of the month. The people in the cut jobs were notified last week, and that their pay and benefits would continue through the end of the month.
