Wickenburg Gold Rush Days

Festivities begin with a shoot-out on Frontier Street that kicks of a wild rootin'-tootin' western weekend. Spectators line the streets on Saturday as one of the largest parades in Arizona passes by. Cowboys from all over the country gather on Saturday and Sunday afternoon to participate in the rodeo. In the area around the Community Center families can enjoy a carnival, food booths, and arts and crafts. The Wickenburg Senior Pro Rodeo Committee has announced a change to the entry system for this years Gold Rush Days Rodeo. Local contestants will be considered “members for a day” and will be given an equal chance at the rodeo draw. Now all local contestants will be given the same consideration as National Senior Pro Rodeo Association members. All local contestants interested in entering the Gold Rush Days Senior Pro Rodeo should call the NSPRA National Office at 406-375-1400. All local contestants must purchase a permit ($10 per rodeo) and pay their entry fees, office charges, and permit fee with the National Office prior to entering the rodeo. The entry day for the Gold Rush Days Senior Pro Rodeo is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 1st, from 10a.m. to 7p.m. The entry number to call is 877-595-0061. Rodeo performances are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 11th and Sunday, Feb. 12th at 2p.m. Slack is held on Friday, Feb. 10th, starting at 11a.m.Concessions are available, and the gates open at noon on Saturday and Sunday.Tickets are: $8 Adults $6 Seniors $6 Students $3 Children (5 and Under are free).For information call The Wickenburg Chamber at 684-5479 or go online for all of the scheduled events during Wickenburg's 58th Annual Gold Rush Days celebration at www.wickenburgchamber.com.
