T-bill Interest Rates Hit Nearly 5-Year High
Interest rates on short-term Treasury bills rose in Monday's auction to the highest levels in nearly five years. The Treasury Department auctioned $20 billion in three-month bills at a discount rate of 4.375 percent, up from 4.290 percent last week. An additional $17 billion in six-month bills was auctioned at a discount rate of 4.435 percent, up from 4.340 percent last week.
