MLB O.K.s Cincinnati Reds To Transfer Ownership

Major League Baseball approved the sale of the Cincinnati Reds from Carl H. Lindner, the chief executive officer of Cincinnati Reds LLC, to a group led by Robert H. Castellini, it was announced today at MLB's quarterly ownership meeting. W. Joseph Williams, Jr. and Thomas L. Williams will also purchase significant ownership interests in the Reds. Mr. Castellini will serve as the new ownership group's control person. Mr. Lindner will continue to have an ownership interest in the ball club.
