Hines Horticulture Gets Job Training Grant

The Arizona Department of Commerce, Chino Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and Yavapai College presented Hines Horticulture with an Arizona Job Training Grant on Thursday. Hines Horticulture will use the $99,570 grant to train 68 employees. Hines Horticulture generates $15 million annually selling plants to independent garden centers and home centers in six states. The company has 250 employees. Ellen Benson with Yavapai College assisted in applying for the grant. Companies receiving Commerce Job Training grants have two years to complete the training. Employers pay up to half the cost of training existing employees, and up to 25% of the costs of training new employees.
