Gila County Sheriff's Office Press Release

On Jan. 5th, 2006 at 7 am the Gila County Sherriff's Office received a call regarding a burglary from a construction site in Pine. As a deputy was taking the report, detectives developed information idenifying the suspects & where they were going with the stolen goods. Detectives contacted Phx. Police Detectives asking for assistance in apprehending the suspects in North Phoenix. The Phoenix detectives were able to video tape the suspects trying to unload the merchandise, and three male subjects were taken into custody for possession of stolen property. The three are Frank Fyda, Joel Johnston, and Russell Smith. Also taken into custody was a female run away from Mesa. Additional local charges are pending on Johnston & Smith. All items stolen, except one, were recovered and returned to the rightful owner.
