ASU Scottsdale Center for New Technology and Innovation's New Name

The proposed development originally known as the ASU Scottsdale Center for New Technology and Innovation will now be called SkySong. Developers said the name is taken from the proposed signature architectural feature of the research and retail development. Scottsdale City Manager Jan Dolan said the new single-word name makes sense. The total cost of the complex is estimated at $300 million, a bill that will be shared by the city, the ASU Foundation and private investors. Scottsdale's financial obligation is $86.5 million, which includes land and infrastructure development.
