Phoenix's Century Branch Library will be closed Monday through Jan. 31 while workers complete routine maintenance. The city of Casa Grande will host the 28th-annual Arizona State Open Chili Championship March 4th. The event is free and will be held at Ed Hooper Park, at Rodeo Road and Pinal Avenue/Arizona 387. An annual classic car show will be held the same day. The city of Goodyear is looking for bands to compete in the Spring Break Teen Battle of the Bands. All band members must be younger than 19. Six bands will be selected to participate. The winner will be invited to give a paid performance at Goodyear's Spring Concert Series in April. Registration information is available at www.goodyear.az.gov. All entries must be postmarked by Jan. 31.
