Talk Highlights for 12-10-05

The Gila County Roads Department will be working on Russell Road in Little Acres. The department is requesting all vehicles removed from the street Tuesday, Dec. 13-Dec. 15, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in order to pave the road. Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard will be in Globe on Monday, December 12th. He will give a presentation on “Meth” from 2 to 5:pm in the Cobre Valley Hospital Conference Room.


A Family Emergency Preparedness Fair will be held December 14th, at the Gila County Courthouse. There will be a display of 72 hour kits and other Preparedness supplies in addition to, handouts to help you and your family be prepared for an emergency. The Gila County staff will be there to answer questions, as well. The Fair will be in the Supervisors’ Hearing Room from 10:am until 4:pm.

The Globe Public Library will host its annual holiday Open House next week. The Friends of the Library will be there next Wednesday to greet visitors and recruit new members. There will be a special book sale of “like new” books suitable for gifts. There will also be an amnesty on overdue fines.—one non-persihable food item for each dollar owed. The Open House is from 10:am until 1:pm next week, December 12-16.
